Innovation Live 08

Health Launchpad will be participating in the NESTA run Innovation Live 08 conference on 12th November. The conference is for anyone with an interest in transforming healthcare through the development of new services and different ways of working. The day will combine practical examples of innovations that are already making a real difference, keynote speakers, and the latest thinking on how to develop and encourage innovation at all levels.

Members of the Health Launchpad team will be running two break-out sessions:

1. New Service – Putting Men’s Health on Trial - An innovative way of trying to develop new projects around issues arising from the state of men’s health.

The audience will be the jury in the trial: Are men guilty of failing to look after their own health, or do we have the wrong culprit?

  • Prosecutor: Peter Baker (Men’s Health Forum)
  • Witness: Dr Howard Stoate MP
  • Witness for Health in workplace: Su Wang (Royal Mail)
  • Judge: David Colin Thomé (Department of Health)

2. Incubating Health -  Working with a number of ideas, this workshop will use the Launchpad framework to illustrate, how to work with an idea (anything from care pathway re-design to a new web tool that monitors GP prescribing) and transform it into something real, tangible and effective.

We will also be running a session in the Funding Zone Andrew Brough, Launchpad Fund Development Manager, will be running a surgery in the Fundraising Zone. Andrew will be answering questions around start ups and how to get ideas funded. To get advice about where and how to secure investment for your health initiative, come along on the day to book a one-to-one ten-minute session with Andrew Brough.
