Jane Dawson
Through Pitch your Project, a dragons’ den style event, Journeys to Health scouts for fledgling community groups, social enterprises and interesting projects. The aim is to build capacity in grass roots organisations around the country on a number of fronts. Pitch your Project events offer workshops and one to one support to improve the communications and media skills of fledgling organisations, suggestions on how to raise their profile, recognise their challenges and develop a professional business model for the work they are doing. Pitch your Project award winners, in addition to the prize money, had access to pro bono support from a range of different disciplines suited to the particular needs of each group. As a judge on the panel and architect of the initiative Jane considered over 50 applications for awards during the last 18 months and has set up numerous entrepreneurial mentoring relationships. Educated at the University of Warwick Jane holds a BA (Hons) in Philosophy and Literature. She also holds a number of vocation qualifications.
