Studio Schools funding

In response to a parliamentary question from the MP for Vauxhall Kate Hoey, the Secretary of State for Education, Ed Balls MP, confirmed that money for Studio Schools would be separate from the money for the Building Schools for the Future programme.

Launchpad is currently working with six local partners who wish to establish a Studio School in their area. In response to the question on 30th June Ed Balls stated: “We are currently discussing about six studio schools, which are a particular kind of school that brings the workplace into the school environment, and we will make sure that the funding is genuinely additional to the funding that is already going into the Building Schools for the Future programme in the areas that are chosen.”
