Fastlaners

Fastlaners is a 2 week, intensive work‐readiness programme for graduates from East London who are at risk of becoming unemployed.

The programme aims to address the lack of workplace awareness and under‐developed non‐cognitive skills – some of the most common barriers to graduate employment.

We are running an initial field trial of the programme in East London this autumn with the notion of creating a model that can be replicated throughout the UK. Following the initial field trial, the aim is to repeat the two week programme frequently throughout 2009 (adapting the methodology and model as necessary) and increasing the scale of the project and exploring the scope to turning the project into an independent charity, social enterprise or business model.
