Changing HealthChanging Health aims to address challenges faced by people with long term conditions, by providing a new and flexible support structure. This structure will support people at work and in other aspects of their lives.The project aims to reduce the burden on acute services and to improve health outcomes. (Guardian, April 23 2008) Working for a Healthier Tomorrow -the annual economic cost of sickness absence and worklessness associated with working age ill-health is estimated to be over £100 billion – enough to run the entire NHS. That’s according to a review of the health of Britain’s working age population published by Dame Carol Black (March 2008). The review calls for a radical new approach to health and wellbeing policies within the workplace.
