Michael Young founded the Consumers' Association in 1957. The fist edition of Which? was published from a converted garage in Bethnal Green. The magazine membership was 150,000 by 1979. Gradually Which? adopted a more campaigning style. It now has several satellite magazines such as Which? Legal, Which? Money and Switch with Which?
