Education remains a high priority for the UK, yet despite numerous policy approaches and initiatives there remains a huge challenge to equip young people with the necessary skills to thrive in the 21st century.

The Learning Launchpad is a new model from the Young Foundation for speeding up the creation and development of social ventures in the field of practical learning. Practical learning or 'learning by doing' seeks to engage young people in the world around them - engaging them in the acquisition of skills and their own development. The Learning Launchpad's aim is to find and stimulate innovative ideas, wherever they may come from, and to turn those ideas into new ventures that achieve high social impact and are scaleable and sustainable. This is a challenge that, as investors in and supporters of innovation, EDGE and the Young Foundation are now working together to meet.
